Chelsea are working on a deal to sign Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial as a replacement for Real Madrid target Eden Hazard, according to reports.
The Belgian winger is Real’s No.1 choice to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, who moved to Juventus, and he is putting pressure on Chelsea to accept a club-record transfer by declining any attempts to sign a new contract.
According to The Times, Chelsea are already preparing for the possibility of losing Hazard and have identified Martial as the player to replace him.
The Blues have received indications that United would be willing to sell Martial, who only has one year left on his contract – though they have an option to extend it by an extra season.
Manager Jose Mourinho is open to selling Martial and wants a specialist winger instead, with the Frenchman’s game time reduced already by Alexis Sanchez’s arriva
