NOTE: Only GBIF node managers are eligible to apply to this programme.
GBIF node managers who wish to participate in the two-year pilot phase may signal their interest in strengthening GBIF’s connection with the DNA metabarcoding community by providing access to the Metabarcoding Data Toolkit (MDT). The MDT allows users to easily prepare and publish DNA metabarcoding data to GBIF. It ensures the standardized reshaping and mapping of data, ensuring compliance with the guidelines outlined in the general guide for DNA-derived data guidelines.
The pilot phase will run from 2024 to 2026. The GBIF Secretariat will provide approved applicants with a manager, hosted installation of the MDT and updated it as new versions and capabilities are added.
